We have heard cases of dogs’ working day and night and contributing tremendously to mankind. Dogs in the army have been saving a lot of lives by detecting dangerous bombs. But these are not the only dogs that deserve our appreciation. Meet Baxter, a service dog that spent his life bringing joy to people that were admitted to the hospital.
Baxter was the oldest service dog at the age of 19 1/2 years. This clip features Baxter in his final years. He had difficulties walking and had to be put in a wagon to travel from room to room. Patients could spend time with this pooch whenever they wanted. Baxter’s owner would help him into their room, and the two of them would spend time comforting each other.
