The band was first formed in 1958. This trio consisting of eldest Barry and younger fraternal twins Robin and Maurice had some middling success breaking into the industry. The tune “To Love Somebody” which was released back in 1967 is one of their most famous songs during their decade of soulful ballad. It was penned by Barry and Robin and was originally intended for R&B legend Otis Redding’s upcoming album. But because of the untimely death of Redding in a tragic airplane, the trio decided to take it on themselves.
