When a herd of elephants was chased out of an area because of the human settlement in Africa, a tiny newborn was left out and abandoned. She wandered into an adjacent village searching for company when KWS Rangers rescued her. The forest to which her herd entered was very dense that is why it was impossible for her to reunite with her family and herd. So then, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust stepped in to take over the rescue.
The rescuers flew from Nairobi to Lewa airfield to receive this poor little baby elephant to take her to Nairobi Nursery for her care and rehabilitation. It was very hard for the rescuers to transport this huge wobbly baby who already had a tendency to wander off. But nonetheless they didn’t give up and brought her back safely to her new home.
Watch this brave rescue of an elephant calf who was later named Kithaka. How she adjusts to her new surrounding will surely melt your heart.
