Pro Infirmis, an organization for the disabled is celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the most unique way possible. In midst of the perfect figured mannequins, they plan to display figures with scoliosis or brittle bones disease modelling the latest fashion. For this, they invited some disabled people to model for them and all the mannequins which are to be placed on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse is to be made from their model.
In this video, when these disabled people walked in, they were so happy and were more than willing to have measurements taken. They all had different disabilities; one man was missing half of his leg, another man with bone disease, women with scoliosis and other disabilities. But they were honored to open up to the skilled artists to be able to duplicate their bodies into mannequins. And when finally the master pieces were out, their reaction seeing themselves as mannequins was priceless.
Nobody is perfect. We are all different and unique. Watching this video gave me tears of joy.
