“Silent Night” is surely among the most amazing Christmas carols of all time. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Father Joseph Mohr. In 2011, it was declared as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. St Nicholas was the first person who sang this song; he performed it on the Christmas eve of 1818. Since then, many artists have gone on to give their version of this song.
This video shows a remarkable rendition of “Silent Nights.” Placido Domingo joined a student choir and the Piano Guys to make this cover a massive hit. Placido is no new name to the music industry – he has recorded more than 100 operas and won more than 14 Grammy Awards! His recordings have also hit gold and multi-platinum.
