The video below features a Tasmanian devil, the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world. This species is now found only in the wild on the Australian island state of Tasmania, plus east-coast Maria Island where there is a conservation project with disease-free animals. The large head and neck of the devil allow it to create one of the strongest bites per unit body mass of any extant mammal land predator. This animal is active during the middle of the day, without any overheating. It is capable of shocking speed and endurance and can climb trees as well as swim across rivers. An adult Tasmanian devil is the size of a small dog. Sadly, this species has been declared endangered since 2008.
However, many conservation projects have been going on. Tim Faulkner belongs to one of these projects. He is the General Manager of Devil Ark, a place dedicated to protecting Tasmanian Devils from extinction. In the video, Tim takes a baby Tasmanian Devil out for his very first run! And it is the cutest!
