The man in this video was probably surprised when he found a frog inside his house. As soon as it’s touched, the frog lets out a high-pitched scream; it’s definitely not the kind of reaction I was expecting.
You might not be familiar with this technique, but screaming is actually a common defense mechanism that frogs use to keep themselves safe from predators. It might not be a particularly terrifying cry, but some scientists believe the true purpose of the scream is to call bigger predators. The folks at discover wildlife say that if a frog is attacked by a bird, it may use the call to attract a cat. The cat would likely then attack the bird.
