I am a candle lover are you? Do you often like to light them? When I come back from home tired, lighting a few in my room puts me at ease. So let’s go a little into the history of candles.
The earliest candles were first made in Ancient Egypt more than 5,000 years ago. As early as 3,000 B.C., Ancient Egyptians created candle wicks by dipping rolled papyrus repeatedly into melted tallow or beeswax. They used these candles to light religious ceremonies, homes, and travel at night. Over time, candles became the main source of light for many people around the world. The candle dominated until the late 1800s, when it was replaced by the light bulb.
Today, candles are mostly decorative, ceremonial, or used during black-out emergencies.
