‘What Would You Do?’ is a show that uses hidden cameras to observe ordinary people whilst making them face a moral and ethical dilemma. This time they set up their stuff in a grocery store in New Jersey. The plot is pretty simple. Actresses disguised as a single mother of four children don’t have enough to pay at the counter and are portrayed as living off of food stamps. Would their fellow customers come to their aid? Or would they stand by watch the grieving mother?
Judging people comes naturally to us. We make all sorts of assumptions about them, good or bad. What we fail to do is try and understand the circumstances these people are going through. I was glad to see that almost all of the people in the vicinity stepped up for these supposedly helpless women. Helping each other through tough times is what binds us together as humans.
This situation could actually play out right before your eyes. What would you do in such a case? Share your thoughts in the comments!
